UIDCaption website

uidcaption.com is the website of UIDCaption, my Windows app for adding animated captions to videos. People come here to see what it does, read the reviews and buy a licence. The whole site is in 13 languages, with separate demo videos for each, and it has a blog for content creators, from how fast we read a caption to reading the YouTube Studio retention graph or why creators burn out.

Why Astro

I built it with Astro because a presentation site doesn't need to build its pages on every visit. Astro prepares them all in advance as plain pages, and the site runs through Cloudflare's network, so it loads fast from anywhere. In search results, each country gets the version in its own language.

The chat and the offers

In the corner of the page there's a chat that knows the app. Before answering it looks through the UIDCaption information, so it gives concrete answers about installing, features or the licence, in the visitor's language. I change the price, sales and announcements from the dashboard and the site shows them straight away, with a countdown when an offer has a deadline.
